Photographer's Note
Back with my good friend, my favorite soul tree.
Seems to me everybody should know how to find it, after all, we must all search for our soul (even if we never lost it).
So,
First, make sure you are in Israel.
Beware of watching the news, you won’t believe all the choas that goes on here...
Now, drive to Jerusalem, but don't enter the holly city.
As the case in many holly places, the true sanctity is really outside.
Now, turn left, heading to the Dead Sea.
It's a long drive so make sure you have enough water, and the car air condition works.
Now, and this is important. Don't (and I repeat - Don't) stop along the way to buy Beigale (a kind of a pretzel). You will regret it later...
Keep driving. The road will descent and you will see signs showing you the height of the place you’re passing from sea level.
Soon you will reach the lowest place in the world! (-432 meters)
You pass sea level and sea a Big camel standing at the side of the road. he is always there.
They say he will never die, and never stand anywhere else. If you want see him, know this is the apocalypse.
Ok, you reach the Dead Sea, turn right, driving south.
You will pass some ruins on your left, and later on "Kissutz Kalia" on your right, where the kumeran caves are located (link - http://www.trekker.co.il/english/israel-kumeran.htm.)
Keep going for another 30 kilometers, and you will reach a check up post of IDF (safety check).
Be polite and say that you love Israel and "Yalla Beitar" (Don't ask...)
Break left into a dirt track heading towards the Dead Sea water. And drive safely.
You drive for as long as the road lets you, and stop your car (believe me; you don't want to get stuck there).
Get out of the car, and be sure to leave it locked. Don't be fooled that there is no one around. You can try me on this.
Walk about 500 meters south and you should see this beauty in the distance.
Walk carefully, or the muse will disappear :D
If you get there, the journey itself is the soul you will find.
Take a look at "A Different Look At Israel" presentations

I realized after 10 months with Trekearth, I learnt a lot of things. From the composition of the image, right to the note itself. While your photo is an abstract of sort, well composed and exposed, your note, narrative and descriptive with a bit of humor Gilad.

Stupenda immagine, molto artistica e suggestiva!!
Un po' forzato il rosso sul terreno, ma i gusti non si discutono!!

The repeating motiph of the tree bush on the sky by the clouds are amasing. The tree is not as alone as it is seemed. A good wish or a dream always can be a good companion...

Lone trees if composed in the frame correctly and in sympathy with the other elements in the picture very evocative pictures. This image is strong because the tree is across the bottom third with a light sandy colour below acting as a base and complemented above by a strong sky with beautiful colours on the clouds

Very nice dark composition! I like the way you have included this alone tree in your composition with this dark cloud in the sky. The light is excellent, very warm. Did you use any post processing techniques?
Good work Gilad.

Gilad
I love your note - And I love the dead sea area. However the picture has some pinky feeling around the clouds. I have tried to remove it but with no success - and back to your note - it's great.
