Photographer's Note

Mekedatu (Kanakapura, 90 km from Bangalore, Karnataka State, India) is a narrow gorge through which the river Kaveri flows after merging with the river Arkavati. Mekedatu means 'goat's leap' in Kannada; suggesting that the river is so narrow that a goat can leap across it. Though it is not possible for a goat to leap across it here, about 200 cubic meters of water flows ( per second) through this 10 meters wide gorge.
