Flynn's for Dasha & SteveH, a photo from New South Wales, East

Photographer's Note

ENGLISH: Last week I was lucky enough to have to travel to Port Macquarie for work. The town is situated on the mid-North Coast of New South Wales and is about 5 hours' drive north of Sydney. This is Flynn's Beach, just one of the numerous beautiful and untouched beaches in the area.

This shot was taken at dawn, the day after I had finished work. As mentioned before, I am not a morning person and I dedicate this photo firstly to SteveH (who is also not a morning person) and to DashaB who appreciates that we aren't :)

ITALIANO: La settimana scorsa ho avuto la fortuna di avere a viaggiare a Port Macquarie per il mio lavoro. La cittŕ č situata sulla costa centro-settentrionale del Nuovo Galles del Sud e si trova circa 5 ore nord da Sydney. Questa č la spiaggia di Flynn, solo una delle numerose spiagge belle e incontaminate della zona.

Questo colpo č stata preso all'alba, il giorno dopo aver finito il mio lavoro. Come vi ho detto prima, io non sono una persona di mattino e quindi io dedico questa foto in primo luogo per SteveH (che anche non č una persona della mattina) e per DashaB (chi apprezza il fatto che non siamo :)))

What a splendid seascape. Beautiful tones of the early morning and this great rock placed just right. The mood is much enhanced by the silk like waters resulting from the long exposure; definitely one of your hallmarks. I like it very much.

Good Morning Lisa,

Well, maybe not so much, after reading the note, huh?

I tend to get others angry at 0445 as I'm rustling about trying to find all my accouterments before I head out for the sunrise. Morning is great by me. I wish I had such dramatic and interesting places as the one above to shoot!

Looks like a theme here, Lisa, foamy and wild, dramatic seascapes two in a row so far - I like this one better for the motion - it actually looks more like a painting than a photograph - my compliments to you.

Hello Lisa,

Nice ambiance with the dawn lightning and the effect of a quite small exposure time.
Nice composition. We can only guess the size of the rock by the one of the waves.

Hi Lisa,
beautiful work, real pleasure to look at.
The colors are incredible -very original. Every sunset is like a very diffrent spectacle. The light is very pleasant here. I like long time exposure effect yet short enough to see the splashing waves in the distance. The rock makes excellent foreground. Not having direct sunlight makes it easier to balance the light as it is not too intense.

L'effetto dell'acqua č stupendo ed i colori davvero molto belli.
Anche la composizione che comprende il grande scoglio in primo piano č molto piacevole per il contrasto cromatico che crea.
Le prime ore della giornata regalano momenti di grande pace, serenitŕ e silenzi incorniciati da luci e colori unici.

Hello Lisa,
A marvellous 1/2sec exposure which is just enough to create that silky smooth waves. The GND filter does the trick really well and you have mastered it superbly without blowing out the sky. Excellent composition always.

Yeah, I can see you stressing yourself out working...hmmm, try not to overdo it though:)
I like it; it`s soft and it`s sharp in the same time. I have a faiblesse for warm colors, which you have plenty here.
I see you really pay attention to your uploads and I appreciate that a lot. You are serious about photography but in the same time quite a joyful person.

this is a lovely piece of work.
the ocean waves on the shoreline look like one big marshmellow.
sometimes the fiery wavy waters look more stunning that the clear aqua marine waters - this is a perfect example of that.
it romantic even despite the rough water.

Well captured, lovely colour, sharp, beautiful silky water & well composed with the rock well placed in the frame, my only criticism is the tilting horizon, to the left, I think, ;-))))). Dear One,
Good to see you bounce back with a really good post after that last effort, hmmmmm enough said.
So no hangover to keep you in bed eh, if these dawn forays of yours keep up you'll turn into one of those boring tee-total people.
Wow, the colours are really beautiful and I love the silver sheen on the water in the foreground....superb.
The light reflecting off the water onto the side of the rock is excellent, I'm giving you credit for that, I'm sure you planned it that way.
Composition is good too, the balance is excellent. Added bonus having the wave breaking off the rocks on the horizon, good dynamics.
It's the colours though, just superb.
Now, it's about the tilt to the right on the horizon!!!!!

Paesaggio incantevole e incantato, con tonalitŕ di colore molto belle e rare a vedersi. Mi piace molto come č venuta la schiuma del mare, i riflessi dorati nell'acqua e l'atmosfera da sogno che crea questo cielo.

Hi Lisa,
Beautiful golden tones at the sky. Sea looks wild and gives an impression of a much longer exposure than 1/2 s. It's quite hard to estimate the size of that rock on these conditions. How big is it?

Hi Lisa, good choice of exposure on this one has retained a sense of movement in the waves, with the rock withstanding it. A bit like a sleepy person struggling against the day first thing... cheers, steve

magica atmosfera, cone questa bellissima luce calda che si riflette sul mare in burrasca. Il cielo scuarciato dal sole contribuisce piacevolmente a dare un tono di drammaticitŕ a tutta la composizione. Bella e suggestiva, bravissima!
