Paddy and housing in Alor Star, a photo from Kedah, West

Photographer's Note

Paddy and housing is not an exiting title, but it is the essence of Alor Star, the capital of the Malaysian sultanate of Kedah. Paddy fields are very much integrated in the daily life of everybody living in Alor Star like in this photograph, In the BG there is a modern housing estate, the Taman Jaya next to the Plus Highway not seen in the picture. Living in the houses next to the paddy is not advisable, except you like mosquito, sakes and company which are associated with such paddy fields.

I agree the sky is a bit noisy, what should not be with 400 ISO, but possibly it happened when downsizing.

Lep pogled preko pirincanih polja na crvene krovove grada i planinu u oblacima, dobra kompozicija.
Dobar trenutka snimka sa granama u prednjem planu i oblacima koji donose kisu tako potrebnu pirincu, lepa fotografija i boje, moje cestitke na dobrom radu.

Nice view over the rice fields on the red roofs of the city and mountains in the clouds, good composition.

Very nice landscape unedr a beautiful nad impressive cloudy sky well colected. The vegetaation in the Fg give a greta depht to the image. The red roofs of the houses in the BG arise very well in the composition and give a very plesant graphic effect.

Very constrating scene to me. The moderm big houses with this paddy plantation. I don't see the noise on the sky, to me is ok. And I hate mosquitos, but here where I live have o many.
I likethe cloudy sky. Has this places high air umidity?

In this imge two elements straightaway draw our attention, the bright color of the roof and the grey sky and of course the fresh green field captured at late afternoon hour. The white clouds make such a good contrast. Fine compo with interesting fb subjects. Excellent clarity, color saturation and contrast.

The rule of thirds is applied well. Framing with the tree branches is attractive. The small row of red roofed houses in the distance is eye catching in between the green paddy fields and the pretty sky. It is a lovely picture.
