Stanley Park Reflections, a photo from British Columbia, Western

Photographer's Note

This photo was taken the same day, and at the same location as my "autumn has finally arrived" post, about 3 photos back.

You can see the brown Rowing Club to the left, as in the other photo. Funny how the atmosphere is so different. In this shot, it feels cold with all the blue, but in the other photo the sun had peaked out behind the clouds to warm the scenery.

Walking around the Stanley Park seawall provides so many photo opps, and its no wonder its a favorite for tourists, and locals.

I had to darken the photo a bit, as i overexposed the sky in the original - hopefully its not too bad.

Very interesting to show us this view . the sun has gone away , but colors and reflections are still there ! The result is a cold and warm , both in the same picture .

Autumn is a great painter, and you captured its work with equal art! Excellent use of reflections to achieve perfect horizontal symmetry, a nice light and wonderful colours.
I wonder whether the placement of the trees in the Park was carefully thought out or whether the combination is simply random. Either way, the effect is stunning.

HI Craig, man this series is something else, so enjoyable to watch. you must have been delighted when you saw this light - just kept shooting until the memory card gave out. And then when you saw the results, I'd have jumped for joy. Such a superb shot. The symmetry is amazing, just like glass. I like the deep colours and understand completely the heartbreak of an OE'd sky, but you've fixed it well and I see no problem at all. Where I live, we have quite an insipid Autumn, the colours aren;t that drastic, so to see this kind of colour range is really wonderful. Good Morning Craig,

Stanley Park appears to be an great location for photography! The wide expanse of water, the border of autumnal trees and the sailing boats, what more could you want!
Your pov maximises the effect of the colourful trees and their reflections, whilst leading to the boathouse, where the long reflections of the boat's masts bring us back into the f/g, completing our circular tour of the site.

The reflections on the water of the ocean are assets to the composition. The point of view is sending my eyes toward the Rowing Club house which is giving depth to the scenery. the morning light is bringing out the beauty of the colors. have a nice day.
