Photographer's Note

While trekking from Lukla to Namche, I saw many porters who earn a living carrying more than 70kgs on their backs for 6 - 7 hours along the hilly trails. There are no cars. Not even a bicycle can run on these steep and rocky paths. Food and other goods are carried from Lukla airport to Namche by humans, horses, mules and cows.
With such a load on his back, this young man still manages to smile. He positions his sturdy T-shaped stick beneath his load so he can take a breather.

He manages a smile despite his heavy load, the steep track and the rain. A worthy contribution to TE. I have walked this track. Cheers, Marlene
