Photographer's Note

Kāli is considered the goddess of time and change. The name means "the black one" and refers to her being the entity of "time" or "beyond time." Although sometimes presented as dark and violent, Kālis earliest incarnation as a figure of annihilation still has some influence. She is represented as the consort of Lord Shiva, on whose body she is often seen standing. Kāli is associated with many other Hindu goddesses like Durga, Bhadrakali, Sati, Rudrani, Parvati and Chamunda. Picture shot at the temples of Angkor Wat, Cambodia.
