Photographer's Note
This was taken in a small rural village in Mae Sariang Thailand it is close to the border of Burma. This rural traditional village is called Mae Saut Noi the people are of the Karen tribe from Myanmar (Burma). The locals do not see any tourist or westerners before this village is located in the country side where you see lots of rural traditional village, this is still one of the very few traditional villages which exists in Thailand very few are still traditional with bamboo huts on stilts like this one.
When I arrived in this small village taking shots of the people these local kids of the village soon followed me down the river where i was taking photos of the beautiful view of the mountains and river. They were all seating on the dirt watching my every move I then talked with the kids and said hello but they didn't speak English they were looking at my camera and giggling. They were happy to pose for all my shots and laughing & giggling when i showed them their photos, they were pretty cool kids and loved to pose.

Hi Mark,
I wish there was more definition and contrast here, but it is a charming shot still, I have met quite a few Karen refugees here in Brisbane through my work, and they are very warm people. It must have been a great experience to meet them in their village.
Cheers
Justin
