Photographer's Note
Intending to take some shots of the old cottages opposite our guest house in Graaff-Reinet, I was thwarted by tour buses lining the narrow road. Rather than return empty handed I decided to use this colourful bus as a feature in my composition.
Graaff-Reinet is the fourth oldest settlement in South Africa (after Cape Town, Stellenbosch, and Swellendam), with a higher percentage of buildings having been officially declared historical monuments than is the case for any other city in South Africa.

Rosemary
Très belle idée d'utiliser ce bus coloré bien éclairé pour composer cette photo et créer cette image dont les couleurs vives attirent irrésistiblement le regard. J'aurais bien recadré un peu pour supprimer le sol et l'ombre en bas?

Hi Rosemary
love this! Such a creatively observed and composed shot. The light and shade are perfectly placed and the lines complement each other so harmoniously. Add to that the sharp detailing and mixture of elements and you have an original and visually impacting masterpiece. Top notch imagery Rosemary, when do you open at the Tate Modern? This could grace a wall there anyday. Imaginative and magnificent!
Regards - Brian.

Good Morning Rosemary,
You are a fine, opportunist artist; you take advantage of what you have rather than admitting defeat! In the event, something has been captured which is sharp, colourful, perfectly composed and nothing like you imagined! Well done!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

This is a really skillful shot, Rosemary, showing off an impressive eye for arrangement, color and composition. You had to combine three disparate elements here, none in full, and did so in a way that allows them all to support the other in a wider composition. Great graphic art here, with a classic feel.

Hi Rosemary
This is a stunning image. There is such tremendous strength to the three main elements of the image; the bus, the building facade and the minimal blue sky. And those three colorful contrasting elements each form superb lines, shapes and textures throughout the picture. The details make great photographic subjects either as expressions of ideas or emotions, as graphic shots or as a way to say something about a location that would get your message across in an indirect way. And to top it all off the lighting is superb. A fine shot with an artistic touch. Congrats
Kind regards

Hi Rosemary,
That really is a work of art, the colours are brilliantly placed. So much so in fact, that the objects themselves, the bus and the house, become very much secondary to my eyes, as its the colour placement and combination that grabs the eye, and only then, do I notice the canvass they are on. Brilliantly seen with spectacular colours and shapes.
All the best

Hello Rosemary,
I previously noticed this shot but with no time to comment. Now, I can recover.
I like its graphism and what colors are bringing.
Strong work on the composition to get many different geometric shapes.

Hi Rosemary
I couldn't resist taking a closer peek into this photo of yours.
So how did you come up with the idea to capture this photo? its so funny how the interruptions of the tour buses actually worked out in your favor!
this shot has so many layers to it, its as if its been pasted and glued together from torn strips out of a magazine :)
so very cool!!
love the lines and squares and how it all comes together as one unified piece!
brilliant
cheers

Hello Rosemary,
This has strong graphic content and I like it very much. The exposure and sharpness are perfect and the whole composition works excellently. The red shape on the bus is of course the attention grabber but I also like the red headrest inside the bus against the black interior. This is all balanced so well by the horizontal bands of colour on the building.
Best wishes, Ann
p.s. after one month the sinusitis is much better so hoping that I can at last get back to normal.
