This is the church of Saint George (Agios Georgios - śăéďň Ăĺţńăéďň in greek) in Amaliada town.

I think the dark red colour is quiet impressive making the building very imposing.

Hello again Chris,

This might not be quite so stunning a photograph as your most recent one of a setting sun, but it is a beautiful image of a beautiful church. And, yes, you are quite right: the dark red colouring around the "edges" of this building really does make it appear very impressive, probably because it helps to highlight the lighter colour of the rest of the walls and also makes it stand out beautifully against the lovely blue sky.

But it's not only the dark red colour here that makes this picture so lovely. The dappled light on the front of the church is very appealing and that also combines with the subtle reflections of sunlight off the windows.

Glorious light and colours, fine symmetrical composition and exquisite details and sharpness.
