Photographer's Note

House of blacksmith family Kragujevic in city Osijek, Croatia. This house was built during the 18th century, few years after the liberation of city Osijek from Ottoman occupation. It is located in Lower town, and is one of few still remaining object from 18th century in Lower town. Large amount of old buildings in Lower town were destroyed on 14. June 1944. when Allied bombers bombed the city. That was the first attack of Allied forces on Osijek, and it lasted just few seconds but the damage was huge, leaving most of the Lower town in ruins and 259 people killed. This little house was lucky to survive up to this day, and its design is one of the most memorable in whole city. It is also one of the most common photographed buildings in Lower town and it's also one of the Lower town symbols.

I had a presentation of Lower town today on my college, so I decided to post few photos that are related to this topic on TrekEarth.
