Photographer's Note

The Bedřich Smetana Museum is a museum which is dedicated to the life and works of famous Czech composer Bedřich Smetana (18241884). It is situated in the centre of Prague in a small block of buildings right next to Charles Bridge on the right bank of the river Vltava in the Old Town .

The building, which was formerly owned by Prague Water Company, has housed the Smetana Museum since 1936. It is a grand building in the Renaissance style. The main part of the museum exhibits are on the first floor. The upper floors house archive material relating to Smetana, providing a centre for research.

A well considered composition that has an agreeable balance to it. Lights and colours are very pleasant to view and sharpness very good indeed.

Męme si la tour aux teintes d'or et que les bâtiments aussi, mon regard accroche ŕ ces poteaux de soutien en diagonale dont on se demande l'usage. J'aime bien le format carré.

Hello Daniel,
The leaning wooden beams are the most eye-catching feature here, almost stealing the show from the elegant buildings. The famous bridge has been reduced to a discreet detail in the background. Not that I mind at all. There is a nice light on the clock tower and the red roof and generally pleasant colours.

double pont un en fond l'autre ŕ droite et quel rendu sur celui de droit avec ces bois ces pieux quel effet et graphsime et quel tout avec et éclairage trčs doux la belle horloge les reflets sur l'eau quel ensemble sueprbe.

Hello Daniel,

I was immediately captivated by the wooden beams spreading backwards and reminding me of gills on a fish! They make the perfect introduction and guide to the scene, where this imposing, colourful building takes over.
I love the f/g reflections!

Breath taking clock tower and nice touch of golden reflection are strong points here. The blend of subtle low warm light has finely set off the imposing scene real good and contrasts
