BONES OF XIAN, a photo from Shaanxi, Central

Photographer's Note

Early in the morning I revisited the street market in Xian muslin quarter. The workers were cleaning and opening the stores and stalls, not so much people walking around in that moment.
Here we have a guy cleaning the stall where a plate with lamb (or goat) meet was sold.
PS: Benny read the sign and said it was goat meat.

De manhăzinha eu voltei ŕ rua do mercado no quarteirăo muçulmano de Xian. Os vendedores e empregados estavam abrindo e limpando as bancas e lojas da área e năo havia muita gente na rua.
Vemos aqui uma vista de um rapazinho limpando a banca que vendia carne de carneiro (ou cabra) em espetinhos ou algo parecido.

Lots of bones and not much meat. Interesting daily life composition. I like the juxtaposition between the skeleton and the man cleaning his equipment. Good light management with well rendered colours and good sharpness.

This is a very original street photo. I have never seen such a skeleton hanging outside a food stall. Even though I suspect it is only a gimmick it is very eye-catching, along with the signs above. The young man adds life beside the very dead remains of an animal.

The animal's skeleton shows that it had probably been a good day and that a lot of meet had been sold. A good capture of the empty market. An interesting daily life shot with good lighting.

Jorge, the worker is cleaning his shop. All the lamb meat has been sold the day before and only the bones remain I think. I like the signs on the stands. Pleasant daily life shot

Great street picture, Jorge, though it's a bit strange to see a food stall without food. I guess you might have had to get up early here.

I hello Jorge,

This is a very unusual scene, even for a market!
It may say goat meat but there is little meat remaining, just bones.
I wonder if people buy the goat skeleton.

It is a fine, clear photograph, perfectly candid as the butcher is quite unaware of you and your camera.

The bloodied, skeletal remains of the goat are testament to the source of the goat meat on the satay skewers above it. Good colour and sharpness. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Jorge, The meat stalls in exotic countries can be shocking for the Westerner's eyes. It was taken early in the morning so maybe the previous days all the meat so sold. anyway, it looks very strange anyway.

the inscriptions do not help me to decide what meat it may be :)
But they certainly add an exotic touch to the scene.
Nice to see the meat preparation in front of your eyes so you actually see what you are getting to eat -which may be particularly important in China.
Having said that, I don't each much meat so I consider it theoretically...

Uai, mas esse aí já vendeu a carne toda por hoje? Tá parecendo até aquele pessoal comendo peixe em desenho animado, quando só sobram os espinhos! Mas é uma vista bem interessante da vida diária no local, tudo bem diferente daqui!
