~ solitude ~, a photo from Rajasthan, West

Photographer's Note

Took up position on a bridge during my routine early morning photo walkabout at Laat Ghat, lake Pichola, waited for quite a while till a washer woman came into view to do her usual manual laundrette. The thick yellow-greenish mass of algae floating in some areas was common on the waterways. With this image I'm hoping to portray the sense of solitude that I enjoy when out on my own with my thoughts and my camera.

Sometimes we encounter the opportunity for an image that we weren't expecting.....

Setting: 34 mm, 1/100 sec, F10, ISO Raw 200, 0733 hrs & Polarised

Hello Abmdsudi,

There is the solitude that you experience but possibly, even stronger, is the solitude of this lone lady, quietly washing her clothes at the edge of the river.
The rings that she is producing, on the surface of the water, extending across the frame but meeting nothing! A metaphor of her loneliness and isolation!

Hello Abmdsudi, an excellent composition with the lone woman placed perfectly.
She immediately attracts our attention, before we look to the water and the ever widening circles that she has created.
The algae doesnt detract from the view.

Something to be said for being alone. Many a times it can bring renewal to ones soul. A tune up so to speak. Nice capture. The ripples heading out into the water away from the lone human could be prayers sent out.
