Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

This morning, I am sharing a photograph which was taken at a local garden, participating in the National Garden Scheme. It's something I am always eager to support.

The National Garden Scheme gives visitors unique access to over 3,600 exceptional private gardens in England and Wales, and raises impressive amounts of money for nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cake.

This garden was just a few hundred yards from where I live and the owners opened it, at a cost of Ł4.00 per visitor, for a chance to explore, gain inspiration and spend a few hours meeting friends (and some new comers) for a leisurely few hours.

According to the website for the National Garden Scheme, thanks to the generosity of such garden owners, volunteers and visitors, over Ł60 million has been donated to nursing and health charities and made an annual donation of Ł2.88 million in 2020. The core beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.

I will add a workshop, showing some of the eager helpers, serving tea and cakes to visitors. They were a little surprised to be photographed but the shot tells a little more about the ambience of the day.

Have a lovely Sunday, Bev :-)
