Photographer's Note
Weobley, pronounced webbly, is on the black and white trail in Herefordshire. This is a group of towns which have many black and white buildings. These are timber framed using oak. Green wood was used as it was easier to manipulate but over time it warped and many of these buildings became distorted. The wood was originally left untreated to allow it to weather but then the fashion developed to paint the wood black, hence the black and white trail. The parish church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul dates to the 13th century

Hi David,a very dark scenario, the choice of black and white is perfect for a composition with these characteristics and with this gray light, the notes about the type of wood used in the construction are very interesting, and its deformation always gives a very charming vintage touch . Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hello David, this looks like an interesting place to take a walk with a camera.
You give us a taste of the type of architecture that we might expect to see, with a rather elegant church spire in the background.
I like the bare tree behind the church too.
Black and white suits the shot.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi David
Doing photos from this B&W trail in B&W is absolutely necessary and the photo is well composed and interesting even if needing a bit of extra sharpening, which I notice that Paja has done in a workshop.
cheers
Ian

Hello David,
There are places in Herefordshire which seem as forgotten by time! These timber framed houses are remarkable indicators of past styles.
Your b&w photograph is a fine choice to clearly record the details of the houses and the tall church tower, proudly defined against the cloudy sky.
For once, the wires seem like a pleasing addition, rather than spoiling a photograph.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello David
The vertical framing works well here. Good graphism and the half timbered houses look great. The clocktower and its spire provide a focal point. Tfs!

Hi David,
Taking into account the B&W trail, your choice of B&W seems so suitable here. The houses well illustrate what you wrote. I like the dark sky which adds a particular mood here. Interesting final effect, very well done,
M
