Sunflowers, a photo from Bamian, East

Photographer's Note

Sunny sunflowers for a Sunday. This picture was taken at the Bamiyan Hotel where an entire garden is devoted to sunflowers. The hotel is on a hill overlooking the town and it is possible to stay in a yurt (more modern than traditional). From the hotel there are good views across to the famous Buddha niches (Buddhas now destroyed) in the rock face opposite. Pictures to come soon.

Superb macro shot Jonathan! Great detail of these sunflowers. Just love the strong colors of it - the blue and the yellow are well balanced. It's really a cacthing one! I'll be waiting for those pictures of the rock... Congratulations!

The colours on this shot just jump out at me! The yellow and the blue is a great combination, and both of them are so vivid here. Very eye catching!

Hi Jonathan, beautiful shot, clear and sharp with superb colours just poping out of the screen. The light is excellent and the clean blue sky creates a nice background and a strong contrast to the flowers. Well done!

Hi Jonathan,

What an amazing shot! Sharp, colourful, perfect weather, etc. What else can one ask for?
I have seen many sunflowers while visiting parts of the USA but nothing compared to this.
