Photographer's Note
Driving east on Queen Street, several blocks away from the local scrap yard, I had to stop my car behind this hybrid vehicle, which waited until the traffic signal had changed before it (!) moved forward into the intersection, leaving me in a cloud of dust.

I know this guy, he is a hardworking man trying to keep his kids in college.
Did you get a release?

I just read through the exchange of views and as an Indian I was actually quite amused.
Also as someone who owns a garage in India I immediately recognised not only the engine block but also the ventilated disc rotors on the block.
In my opinion...the guy is possibly taking the engine and rotors for reconditioning...not to the scrap yard.If he was he would not have carefully covered, with a new cloth, the various opening left by removing the heads!
The only odd thing is whereas he is wearing a sandal on his left foot it seems to be a shoe on his right..so I would imagine he works in a garage that doesnt pay too well and is not the owner of a small shop as I earlier concluded.... that he is hardworking is written in his body...still strong at his age... around the early 50's I assume.
Now he needs no sympathy just respect. In India we have similar people who cant afford a pair of shoes yet they smile and work hard like the gent here.
Maybe you both need a holiday to India to put "deprivation" in perspective and sling political correctness out of the window!
