Photographer's Note

This is my third picture from the series of Leh-Ladakh.

The Panggong lake water is really crystal clear. This water has got lots of minerals dissolved like, manganize, ferrous, ferrous oxide, which gives the color to the water after sun rays get reflected. On a very clear day, like I'd...one really get a chance to see purple, dark blue, blue, turquoise blue, green, and yellow shades in water.

The water is clear like a mirror. Now, how to explain or demonstrate to my friends here in US. This is what I did. That little fish was under the lime stone, I removed the stone little bit, and as soon as the fish came out, I clicked it. I wish to have a bright color fish there...but hey you know it worked. It is hard to say if this picture is under water one, that at foot and a half deep! The shadow you see is my head...sorry didn't wanted to crop.

Incredible!!
The fish is at a foot and half deep. Water is crystal clear and I can't feel the water at all. This is marvellous.

Hi vandana,
Just posted one of Panggong myself..:-) Always thought there was no marine life in Pangong...but your shot definitely clears that up..:-)

Good start...nice shot. Water looks crystal clear. maybe the fish a little more off centre, and some sharpening would make this shot more impressive. Great start though!
