Photographer's Note

I took this picture late last year during one of my trips to the market. I was particularly drawn to this lady vendor who was selling all kinds of spices. However, everytime I pointed the camera at her, she turned her back.

I walked back, climb the stair and crept behind her back. Then I shot 6 similar shots. She saw me. She smiled. Had she berated me, I could have lost face. (I had never been berated or reprimanded yet for taking people's shots. I get physically very very close sometimes.)

I know the composition is so busy but I have one tight one and it just doesn't work. This is her life. Chaotic perhaps, but she's "hot". After all, she's the market's "spice girl". And for this shot, I kept her privacy.

Auto-adjustments, unsharp masking
