Photographer's Note

Today I wanted to photograph a lonely tree in the morning mist. I woke up 5:30h and drove to the location. I was almost there when I remembered that I forgot the tripod. I was too far away from my home so I decided to explore the nearby forest. And I managed to capture this using my backpack instead of tripod.

Neat! Looks like something out of the Lord of the Rings. It's hard to shoot into the sun without blowing it out, but this one works well. Great light on the leaves, too.

Forgetting your tripod was fortunate. Using the backpack provides a lower ground level perspective that adds interest to the composition. You might want to forget your tripod more often. :)
