Intro: I've spent my entire life residing in New Jersey, which is a relatively featureless state on the east coast of the US. Two of my biggest passions are traveling and photography, and I'm looking to hone my amateur skills in the latter. Luckily, I happened upon this site, where there is such a wealth of knowledge and experience.

I've been into photography since I was young, using flimsy point-and-shoots. I bought my first 35mm SLR about 8 years ago, which is when I became more serious about photography. Eventually, I broke down and got a digital camera in 2003, after resisting the new technology for years. I soon fell in love with the instant results, the ability to experiment more, the flexibility, and the constant improvement in options and quality. Since then I have been taking more photos, and scanning my previous ones onto PC.

I was serious about seeing the world before I became serious about photography, and consequently I don't have anything worth posting from those years. My more recent travels are concentrated around the US and Canada, of which I have covered a good portion. I also spent a fair amount of time in eastern Europe a few years ago; mainly Ukraine. Hopefully I will be able to see as many places as time and money will afford me in the coming years.

One of my biggest weaknesses is post-processing. I have PSE, but I'm not very adept at it. With your help and workshops, I am learning.
